Purchasing Director

MS SHIFT is seeking a Purchasing Director to join our growing team. This person will manage relationships with vendors and clients to ensure their success with our software — a crucial role that requires a combination of relationship building, problem solving, and communication skills in a high-energy, fast-paced, achievement-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

  • Procurement & Vendor Management
  • Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to meet business objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to ensure cost efficiency and quality standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to enhance business partnerships.
  • Monitor supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
  • Cost Control & Budgeting
  • Optimize procurement costs by identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and risk factors affecting procurement.
  • Prepare and manage the purchasing budget, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Inventory & Supply Chain
  • Ensure a steady supply of materials while minimizing excess inventory and waste.
  • Oversee demand forecasting and procurement planning.
  • Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records and generate reports on purchasing performance, cost savings, and supplier efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, market trends, and cost reduction strategies.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data analysis, and financial forecasting.
  • Knowledge of import/export regulations and supply chain logistics (if applicable).
