MS SHIFT is seeking a Purchasing Director to join our growing team. This person will manage relationships with vendors and clients to ensure their success with our software — a crucial role that requires a combination of relationship building, problem solving, and communication skills in a high-energy, fast-paced, achievement-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Procurement & Vendor Management
- Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to meet business objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to ensure cost efficiency and quality standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to enhance business partnerships.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and quality standards.
- Cost Control & Budgeting
- Optimize procurement costs by identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and risk factors affecting procurement.
- Prepare and manage the purchasing budget, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Inventory & Supply Chain
- Ensure a steady supply of materials while minimizing excess inventory and waste.
- Oversee demand forecasting and procurement planning.
- Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate records and generate reports on purchasing performance, cost savings, and supplier efficiency.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation, contract management, and vendor relationship skills.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, market trends, and cost reduction strategies.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data analysis, and financial forecasting.
- Knowledge of import/export regulations and supply chain logistics (if applicable).
